NAIT Culinary Arts Program and WOW! Team up

Debbie Gust

WOW! Factor Desserts is very excited to announce a $1,000 scholarship contest to be awarded to the baking student that successfully creates a dessert that WOW! brings into production.

What began over lunch with Alan Dumonceaux Chair, Baking - School of Skilled Trades, Department of Culinary Arts and Professional Food Studies at NAIT in March quickly grew to include a tour of the NAIT Baking Department facilities, a presentation to the Baking Department by Kalynn Lee, WFD R&D Technician and NAIT Graduate, introducing the four new Spring launch desserts she created, two tours of the WFD Production Facility by the NAIT Baking students and a new product development contest in which the creator of the winning selection will be awarded a $1,000 WFD Scholarship.

WOW! Factor Desserts is pleased to be taking steps to grow our relationship with the Baking Department at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology).

WFD is very pleased by these positive developments in our relationship with NAIT Baking as we have the opportunity to tap into the talent pool graduating from the program annually.
— Colin Ruttle, VP General Manager

WOW! Factor Desserts has employed graduates of the NAIT Culinary Program who have gone on to create top sellers in our line-up.  In fact, our very own R&D Manager and graduate of NAIT, Kalynn, will be interviewed for their magazine called "Tech Life" to be distributed to 190,000 former students worldwide.
